  WHAT MAKES OUR PROJECT WORTHY OF SUPPORT?

It’s time to ‘walk the walk’: Our project’s aim is to help break the cycle of dependency.

There is massive demand – I have received hundreds of emails from people who are ‘desperate’ to find an alternative! The main barrier is lack of money.

 We will create sustainable model for living within the natural world with service to others at its heart

 Throughout the setting up process we will teach and mentor people. 

 Current applicants to the project provide an impressive range of skills which will ensure our success (see below).

We will teach our model and skills to others - teaching at least 1,500 people per year and they will then take their confidence, set up their own activities and pass skills on to others.

We will seed new projects: The effect of our success will enable us to raise funds for new community start-ups and we will provide people to mentor their members in all the skills that are needed to make them a success.

APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED TO DATE

We have had applications from a large number of families, couples & individuals who would like to join Eco Chateau.  We have more applicants than places.  Together they provide very wide range of essential skills and experience that will enable us to create a community of great strength.  Following are the skills of just 14 couples and individuals who have applied: 

SUSTAINABLITY SKILLS: permaculture educator and designer, deep ecologist, agro-forestry, edible forest gardening,  aquaponics, grey water purification systems, composting toilet systems, bio digesters, hydro and solar energy systems, animal husbandry, general  organic principles and practices, general farm skills, horse handling, Ecological Design, conservation worker (laying hedges, building stone walls, etc)

BUILDING & MECHANICAL SKILLS: electrical systems. masonry and carpentry, general building, welding, mechanical systems and maintenance, carpentry skills, mechanics, furniture making and woodworking, combined Gas, Electrical and Plumbing engineer, eco-building skills & water/sanitation expert

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT SKILLS: management, community development, garden historian & conservation planner to the national trust for 18 years, landscape architect, public projects, planning applications, newspaper journalism and various corporate communications roles

HEALTH & WELLBEING: naturopath, kinesioligist, reiki therapist, homeopath, nutritionist, herbalist, clinical hypnotherapist,

ADMINISTRATION & SUPPORT: administrative skills, computer programmer, computer networking, web and creative software Developer, restaurant cook, tailoring skills,

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: psychodrama & dynamic theatre, Yoga, Chi Gong, conflict resolution

TEACHING: maths, dance, languages, leadership, horse whispering, grammar, rhetoric, logic, arithmetic, astronomy, music, geometry, history, economics and philosophy, general business

THE ARTS: producer of two feature films, music, singing, dance, acting, filmmaking, photography, dramatic writing, jewellery making, dance choreographers - movement directors specializing in commercial, film and music video production (www.flexystudio.com)
